Visa To Permanent Resident In Event Immigration Marriage Ends
There are new laws regarding immigration and bringing spouses into America. Right now, Spouse Immigration isn’t a visa for the duration of the marriage anymore. If your American citizen spouse dies or divorces you, you do not have to fear deportation any longer. Because of the 9th Circuit’s decision in Freeman vs. Gonzalez and Choin vs. Mukasey, you can apply your visa status to permanent resident status. It’s a long application process with numerous requirements, but provides relief to those that have been good American citizens under their immigration marriage that no longer exists.
