Start off with affordable Health care plans

Today in America, many more of its population is in need of affordable health care. Increasingly, workers are finding themselves on the receiving end from their employers who are reducing the services provided or passing on the increases. I know this because I am one of those workers; I have a great job and prior to 2006, I also had an amazingly wonderful health care plan. Just before Christmas, the company announced some changes including the replacement of our, now to expensive, health care supplier. They said it was necessary if all their employees were to have the same level of health care. Although I am just as well looked after with this new policy, I'm not entirely convinced. It's not that I'm against the company trying to save money and make it more equal but twice the amount is now taken from my paychecks each month so that the rest of my family can be on the policy. This means, that for my company to provide a health plan to all of the employees, it is no longer affordable for us. However, in order to avoid the burden of the cost of health care, certain measures to prevent diseases like having  water filter to improve the quality of water would be necessary.I suppose my health care plan is still good but this new company is not as good as the old one. The new affordable health care plan initiated by my company meant that certain workers found themselves a lot worse off financially with additional co-pays and expenses. You see, my previous plan paid my entire hospital bill just over 3 years ago when I had my little boy. I sat and worked out the cost of this new plan and if I were to stay in hospital now and have a baby it would cost around 4,000 dollars out of my own pocket. There are also the co-pays to consider, another cost in addition to the hospital fees I would have to pay. We are now seeing an increasing number of companies creating affordable health care plans. For workers in companies without health care plans and single mums for instance, this is a God send. The problem is when a small number of people take advantage of a system that was designed for those that needed it most. Those programs should be for struggling families who are taking steps to better their futures, not for people who have no motivation and live off of the state systems and affordable health care programs. Sometimes it's hard because your conscience says you should help but you know that many people that do not deserve help will benefit and the taxpayer is the one who pays. My employer definitely found advantages in finding a lower cost health plan provider for their employees! However, their money saving technique wasn't good news to employees because suddenly we were making up for their cost cutting endeavor – by seeing less money in our paychecks. We have a responsibility here in America to providing some sort of affordable health care for those that need it most.
