One of the interesting things that you learn over the years is that the types of bible study tools that people use dependent great deal on their church or religious denominational preferences. For example, Protestants tend to rely on certain translations of the Bible like the King James version and the new American Standard version, whereas Catholics might rely on the new American Bible or the revised standard version. The same thing goes for Bible commentaries — the Jewish community makes use of Bible commentaries that are typically not relied on very much by evangelical Protestants, for example.
