From Good to Great
One of the key components that differentiates a science fair idea from a not that great one is one single step – planning, or lack of that. Meticulous planning is what you need to make an excellent project, and this planning should encompass the entire set of activities that goes behind making a project. Let us start from the beginning- choosing a project topic. There are plenty, practically innumerable number of project ideas. Right from Biology, to Chemistry to Physics- the choices are plenty. However, not all ideas are equally exciting, innovative or practical.
The most logical step will be to settle for an idea that is from a subject you love. If you love physics, for example, you will be inundated with options. It all depends how difficult and interesting a project you want to build. If you are game for a satisfying and challenging project, how about making a nice little tic-tac-toe computer game? You might be surprised to know that Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, created a program that played tic tac toe when he was first allowed to access the computer in his school?
