Mass Exodus
If you find your worms trying to crawl out of your red worm compost bin bin it is likely that you have created an environment that is too acidic. If you have recently dumped in a lot of citrus peels into you bin the worms could be reacting to that. Look and see what you have in the bin. Some foods are more acidic than others. Try adding some leaves that have been allowed to accumulate under a tree in contact with the soil. Your worms will love them and they will help to neutralize your bin. You can also sprinkle some lime or calcium and then mix it into your bedding mix.
