Harvesting Stem Cells for Parkinson’s
Stem cells have been shown to be helpful in various illnesses and diseases. Treatment with Stem Cell Parkinson’s has had some success. Currently one of the largest hurdles in this treatment is the availablility of the stem cells. The stem cells that have been found to be the most helpful are pluripotent stem cells. Harvesting these can be ethically and legally difficult. Not to mention costly. These special stem cells come from late embryonic and fetal stem cells. Late embryonic stem cells are seven days old from fertiliztion and the fetal stem cells are from an unborn fetus. Several people may feel that this is not ethically sound and thus object to the use of these cells. While others feel it is the natural advancement of science and no different than organ donation and thus support the treatment. Everyone will base their own decision based on their values and concerns.
