What Is a Secular Homeschool Curriculum?

A secular homeschool curriculum is not much different than a public school curriculum.  Because religion is not a basic part of the teachings, the secular homeschool curriculum mirrors anything that a child would learn in public school.  The only difference is that the child has the opportunity to learn at his or her own pace.  Unlike the traditional setting where a gifted child may be bored or a child who is a bit slow on the uptake may be left behind, a secular homeschool curriculum allows each child to learn at his or her own individual pace, without any distractions from classmates.  For this reason, many parents are choosing to teach their children at home.
