Safety Inspectors
I live in California and on one of my trips with my family to the next city by car, I came across a small bridge which had collapsed under heavy traffic load. Though it was an old bridge, I realised how important it is for construction contractors to insist on safety inspections.
If it happens to an important bridge with a lot of vehicle traffic, it could be a very serious issue. This nagging worry made me go to the local authorities after I returned from my trip to check about what steps they take towards safety of bridges.
I was relieved to be reassured that safety inspectors are commissioned at every stage of construction to make sure bridges and other public buildings are safe for the public and only then was I able to sleep in peace.
