WYSIWYG Spinoffs
The onset of wysiwyg web design software has resulted in a number of spinoffs (created mostly in jest or to emphasize a point)—
WYSINWYG and WYSIWYNG, “what you see is not what you get” and “what you see is what you’ll never get” respectively, are acronyms which take a poke at WYSIWYG for not always producing expected results.WYSIWYN stands for “what you see is what you need”. It basically means that everything a user needs is right there and can be readily seen.
Note that these alternate acronyms have little value in the real world—they’re simply food for thought.
