Using Chinese expertise to forge a manufacturing advantage
There’s no doubt that the Chinese have significant manufacturing expertise. They also have a competitive advantage due to cheap labor rates. This provides an opportunity for western companies to form strategic alliances with China contract manufacturing. Manufacturing offshore can be significantly cheaper; not only from a labor rate perspective but also a capital intensive perspective. In fact, companies that use Chinese manufacturers are able to forge competitive advantages in there own marketplace. It is a practice that many US companies have adopted to improve the bottom line.
