Malpractice damages

The extent of damages needs to be determined in all malpractice cases. The same injury can cause different amounts of damage to different people, so the actual sums involved in malpractice cases can vary.

For example, take two malpractice cases where the plaintiff suffered unnecessary facial scarring and used a malpractice lawyer. One plaintiff is a young fashion model; the other is an elderly recluse. While in both these malpractice cases, damage has been caused, the extent of damage to the fashion model is much greater: she (or he) may lose their livelihood because of that scarring.
