Saving money at home with simple energy audit knowledge
The power bills were driving me up the wall. I felt like a forelock-tugging slave to the power company. Energy costs will be rising sir. And they will rise continuously over the next few years, catching up with rising oil charges. Plus some sort of emission trading scheme will push up my fossil-fuel driven power company’s bills. No escape. So I called a guy to do a home energy audit at our 5 bed, 2 bathroom home. Holy moly, did he identify some easy savings for us. And it’s not expensive. Ceiling insulation has a great government rebate. Plugging drafts is dead-easy and just changing some light bulbs and vents is cutting my bill in half.
