How Does One get Coronary Heart Disease
There are many varied causes of coronary heart disease or coronary artery disease. Generally, coronary heart disease is caused by defective or weakened coronary arteries; the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart itself. The arteries may be constricted or has been hardened. Atherosclerosis is the narrowing of the inner lining of the arteries due to the deposit of hardened cholesterol or other fats. Arteriosclerosis is hardening of the arterial tubes. This is sometime detectable by assessing the ’springiness’ of the radial artery in the wrist. In both these cases, blood supply to the cardiac muscle is restricted or even be blocked. These adverse conditions if untreated can lead to heart attack other serious vascular disorders.
