Health Plans Protect More Than Just Your Health
At the community health clinic that I work at, we see many uninsured patients. Several of these people have been forced to file for bankruptcy because of astronomical medical bills. They hadn’t had health insurance and had a serious illness, and they had to shoulder the entire burden of the associated costs. If only they had obtained some discount health insurance, they would not have been in that situation. The cost is cheaper than you’d expect, and the coverage is really good. Now when I counsel my patients about their health, I always refer them to these great programs if they don’t already have insurance.
